Look and See! Drawing Course

Ready to get back to the basics of art? Drawing is where it all beginsβ€”whether you're sketching out a quick idea, studying the details, or planning your next masterpiece. It’s all about capturing the world around you in your own unique way!

Throughout the day, we’ll help you see things through a fresh, creative lens. You'll dive into fun exercises designed to sharpen your eye, master mark-making techniques, and experiment with colour. We’ll even take a peek at how some famous artists depicted everyday objects and scenes around them.

You’ll walk away with a brand-new set of skills to pop into your creative 'drawing toolbag' for the future. Small class numbers, plenty of space to spread out, and a full day of colourful fun, all guided by Alan.

FAQs

Do I need any experience?

These courses are for adult makers at different stages of their practice — those starting out, people who are looking for a way back in, and practiced makers looking to work through a process and consider new approaches. Your interest and curiosity to take part is what matters, not where you’re starting from.

What materials do I need?

A material list is set for each course. These are normal sketching or painting kit that a beginner or more experienced drawer or painter is likely to have or need for their own use. Additional materials will be provided in combination with what you bring. If you need to add to yours, as a course delegate you will be entitled to a 10% discount on all non-discounted items at the Millers Art Store, 28 Stockwell Street, Glasgow, G1 4RT. Full-time university or college students can get up to 20% off with valid student ID.

What are the group sizes?

Places are limited on purpose. It’s small enough that there’s room for individual attention and the space to comfortably work. For drawing this can be 6-8, for painting this will be smaller.

How do I pay?

Payment can be made securely by a range of payment methods; Credit/Debit Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna Instalments. These are processed by Stripe payment services. The transaction on your card or bank statement will show Teal Creatives Limited, the legal entity of Alan Brash Art. No payment method details are shared with us by Stripe.

Cancellations made 21 days or more before the course receive a full refund; after that, refunds are not available. You can transfer your place to someone else free of charge, or move to another date where a place is available. Full details are in our Cancellation Policy.
